Immunity Part 3

In this video we tackle part three of our nutrients for immunity series. This video is all about zinc, where to find it and where not to find it. Do you feel that you are getting adequate zinc and if so how?  It can be a toughie on a plant based diet, doesn’t mean we need to add animal products, just means we need to know what we need and we can take advantage of the option to periodically test too.

Zinc is essential for stomach acid, blood sugar balancing, digestive immunity and in turn digestive enzymes, digestive hormones and then of course, the health of the microbiome.  With a zinc insufficiency our digestive bacteria will be off.  This has a cascading effect on inflammation and system-wide health.  Holistically, zinc is essential for conversion of omega 3 fats, for proper functioning of the inflammatory (anti-inflammatory cascade), immune regulation (calming and modulating it), blood sugar management and stress/sex hormone production.  See you in the comments!
