Pomegranate Masala Parfait Tutorial

Last week I had the idea to enter the 5 in 5 Hot Raw Chef contest. I managed to get the ingredients down to 5 but couldn’t get the time down to 5 at all. So rather than submitting a fast-forwarded video where I sound like a chipmunk I decided to turn this into a tutorial for you. This is a really great parfait for holidays, whichever holidays you may be celebrating.  Whichever time of year.  Pomegranate has so many benefits to our Bifidobacteria with its phytonutrients.  Did you know that our digestive bacteria actually produce something called ellagic acid from pomegranate (also available as an extract) and this ellagic acid has been shown to improve heart health, decrease obesity and improve prostate health?  And of course so many probiotics in here!  I also do a bit of a tutorial on what is essential in a yogurt starter.  Please feel free to make it sweeter or add less black pepper for a less feisty parfait if that suits you better.

This week we are working on getting out for a walk to improve our mood, energy and oxygenation. If you are feeling ok but you know someone who is not then please take THEM out for a walk and make some nice probiotic foods to bring over to their house and brighten their day.  Not to minimize what they are going through but to show them they have a friend who stands by them.  Let me know what you think in the comments below and whether you have a strategy for this too.  p.s. not a real leather jacket, I don’t own those.

This is part two of our four-part series on depression and practical solutions for every day. For information about digestion and depression please click here and read the section titled Dealing with the Downs. Over the next two weeks we will touch on physical activity, depression and nutrition.

This week we are doing something very special as I let you into my living room with three of my friends for an intimate musical session. I show you how you can write a song to carry with you through the day and help you through life’s difficult moments. This is something that I do very rarely for my cherished clients and would like you to have the skills to do this for yourself too. Be warned this is a long one. I wanted to show the thought processes behind the songs and just how quickly you can come up with something life changing for yourself. Grab yourself a cup of tea and take some time for you with this one. I just watched the whole thing and I have to say I feel happy. Let me know if it works for you too!
